Ben Tate is a running back for the Houston Texans in the NFL.
Ben was born on August 21, 1988 and grew up in Maryland. He played college football for the University of Auburn where he would play for four seasons.
During his senior year at Auburn in 2009, Ben rushed for an impressive 1,362 rushing yards on 263 carries (an average of 5.2 yards per carry) and 10 touchdowns. Ben also made 20 receptions during his senior year. His 1,362 rushing yards in 2009 is the fourth-best single-season record in Auburn's history.
Ben finished his college career at Auburn with 3,321 yards and 24 touchdowns, and ranked in the top ten all-time for all-purpose yards. Ben's 3,321 career rushing yards is the fifth best all-time at Auburn.
Ben was drafted 58th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. After breaking his ankle in the pre-season opener, Ben was placed on injured reserve for the rest of the season. He returned to play in 2011, rushing for 116 yards and 1 touchdown in the first game of the season.
