Gino's Bio

Gino Torretta is a former NFL player and Heisman Trophy winner.



Gino Louis Torretta was born on August 10, 1970 in Pinole, California.



Gino is most known for winning the Heisman Trophy in 1992 as the quarterback of the University of Miami. He was key factor in bringing his team at Miami to multiple national championships.



Gino was widely recognized for his outstanding performance throughout his college football career. On top of the Heisman, he also claimed unanimous First Team All-America honors, and received the Davey O'Brien, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm, Maxwell and Walter Camp awards in 1992.



Gino was selected in the 7th round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikinings. He went on to play for many teams in the NFL including the Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and the Indianapolis Colts. Gino retired in 1998 after playing quarterback for five NFL seasons.



Gino is now the Founder, President and CEO of Touchdown Radio Productions, as well as the vice president for Institutional Sales with Gabelli Asset Management.



Gino was formally inducted into the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame in July 2010, making him the sixth Miami Hurricane to ever be selected for induction.
