David Seawright is a current student at UC Berkeley where he is about to graduate
with a degree in Media Studies. Along with writing his honors thesis, David keeps
busy writing for the @CalBearBlog on CalBears.com.



David attended Rancho Bernardo High School where he was named his school’s
Scholar-Athlete of the Year. David was considered one of the most recognized
special team athletes in the San Diego area, and would go on to play with the
California Golden Bears as a placekicker.



Despite two seasons of play and redshirting in 2010, Seawright’s interest in sports
doesn’t lie solely in the athletic participation. His extracurricular activities have
included interning in the sports department of ABC News 7, sports writing for The
Daily Californian (UC Berkeley’s independent, student-run newspaper) and most
recently, running the Bear Blog for the Cal Athletic Department.
