Brad Guzan is the latest of a long line of quality U.S. goalkeepers to find success in Europe.



Brad has a strong work ethic and an infectious positive attitude, not to mention the ability to rise to the occasion in big soccer matches. ?

?When he is not playing for the USA National Team, Brad plays for Aston Villa of the English Premier League.



Bradley Edwin Guzan was born September 9, 1984, in the state of Illinois where he also played varsity soccer at Providence Catholic High School. Brad went on to play two years of college soccer at the University of South Carolina and was second-team All-American during his sophomore season. In the 2005 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, the USA Chivas drafted Brad with the second overall pick. Brad received his first cap for the USA National Team on February 19, 2006, against Guatemala. Brad was named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in November of 2007.



Over the past few years Brad has established himself as the second-choice goalkeeper for the United States national team. He made his World Cup debut during the second leg of a second round qualifier against Barbados, and even started in the USA's 3-0 win over Egypt in the 2009 Confederations Cup. Brad played on the U.S. national team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Please follow Brad as he posts messages about playing in the World Cup.



Brad has earned ten caps for the US national team and was a part of the USA team that advanced to the final of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.
