Sent 4:53:56 PM Fri Apr 23 '10Ian Johnson is a Running Back for the San Francisco 49ers.
Ian played college football for Boise State and was the starting running back during the Broncos' 2006 undefeated season. That season, Boise State became only the second team from outside the BCS conferences to play in a BCS bowl game. The Broncos defeated the Oklahoma Sooners, the Big 12 Champion, in the 2007 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. In that game, Ian scored the game winning two-point conversion in overtime on a Statue of Liberty play to the left side. By defeating Oklahoma 43-42, the Broncos completed a perfect 13-0 season.
After the game, Ian proposed to his girlfriend Chrissy Popadics, Boise State's head cheerleader, during a postgame interview with Chris Myers on Fox Sports. Chrissy accepted Ian's proposal and they married on July 28, 2007.
After achieving the fastest 40-yard dash time for a running back at the 2009 NFL Combine, Ian was signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Vikings.
On September 10, 2011 Ian was signed to the 49ers practice squad.
