Pierre Thomas is a Running Back for the New Orleans Saints.

Pierre played high school football for Thornton Fractional South High. As a senior he helped take the team to the state semifinals and set school career rushing records of 88 touchdowns and 5,522 yards.

Pierre played college football for the Fighting Illini. He started for the Illini as a true freshman and remained a starter for his entire college career. Pierre ended his college career ranked seventh all-time on the Illini rushing list with 2,393 yards and third all-time on the all-purpose yardage list with 4,099 yards.

Pierre originally signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2007. In his first career start as a rookie, Pierre became the first player in Saints' history (and only the second rookie in NFL history) to gain over 100 yards rushing and receiving in the same game.

Pierre has emerged as an important part of the Saints' offensive attack. In his final six games in 2008, Pierre was the Saints' featured running back and averaged 112.8 yards of total offense per game while also picking up NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors in Week 14.

Pierre had another outstanding season in 2009? the year the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. Pierre carried the ball nine times for 30 yards and caught six passes for 55 yards with a 16 yard touchdown on a screen pass in the third quarter to give the Saints their first ever Super Bowl touchdown and their first lead en route to a Super Bowl XLIV Championship.
